My Bleu Heaven

SFBJ 301

The SFBJ 301 is one of the classic Bleuette's also known as the Silver Bleuette. Silver is a cute and spunky little Bleuette. New generation Bleuettes are those made by today's artists and are made in the likeness of the antique dolls, only sometimes they have eye colors or features not found on the original dolls.

The 301 head mold has a charm all its own. Because this head was used throughout the years leading up to World War II, and after the war, there is greater variation in the quality of bisque and the painting. The dolls produced in the years after the war often had very little paint tint of any kind on the cheeks. During that period of time, the paint used on the dolls was unstable due to poor ingredients and readily washed or wiped off, the porcelain. On the opposite end of the spectrum, many 301 Bleuette's produced in the early 1940's and 1950's are very ruddy colored bisque, with flaming red cheeks and bright red lips. The eyebrows are painted with multi-strokes, but remain fairly narrow. The 301 remains a favorite of collector's today. She has a saucy appearance and seems to head into any new adventure proposed by her "mother." In 1933 Bleuette grew two centimeters. The height was achieved by lengthening the upper thigh by one centimeter and slightly enlarging the head. She remained 29 centimeters until the late 1950's.

Etienne

Etienne was made by Damaris Alves poured from the Seeleys Mold. She has blue paperweight glass eyes, straight down painted bottom lashes, mohair upper lashes and single stroke brows which are all classic for this doll. she has four inset porcelain teeth. She also has cute freckles which were never found on the original dolls. She was poured in Seeleys pure white porcelain slip and wears a red human hair bob with bands.

Etienne is sassy, opinionated and a little bossy. She likes to take charge and run the show and no task is too difficult for her. Because of Etienne, Bleu Manor runs like a well oiled machine.

Delphine

Delphine was made in 2003 by Stephanie Ehmen. I purchased only her head and had a body painted to match her lovely coloring by Melissa Hoover. Delphine has brown paperweight glass eyes and is wearing a Monique wig. There were never any Bleuette's of color.

Yuki

Yuki is an “Asian” bleuette by Beth Golding. She was made from a SFBJ301 mold often called Silver Bleuette. She has brown paperweight glass eyes with a cute black straight wig in English mohair. She has a jointed all wood bleuette body and stands 11 inches high. She was poured in Seeley’s porcelain slip. Here she is with Koko, a 6.5" Mokomo by Sue Wing.
